ThermiSmooth & ThermiTight Q & A
What is ThermiTight?
The purpose of a ThermiTight treatment is to tighten the skin. Dr. Lebowitz inserts a probe under the skin to deliver gentle heat generated by radiofrequency to the specific tissues that you wish to tighten. After the radiofrequency application, Dr. Lebowitz applies a wrap, so you can get back to your normal activities the next day.
What areas can be treated with ThermiTight?
Areas with slack skin that is aesthetically displeasing react best to ThermiTight treatments. These include the:
- Thighs and knees
What are the benefits of ThermiTight?
Applying the heat under your skin can more effectively tighten your skin than procedures that are applied on top of the skin. And, ThermiTight requires just one application. Although it does involve the insertion of a probe just below the skin, it’s not nearly as invasive as surgery. After a Thermitight treatment, you need a day of downtime, but not weeks as is often necessary with more invasive skin-tightening treatments.
What is ThermiSmooth?
ThermiSmooth offers a way to temporarily reduce cellulite. ThermiSmooth gently heats your skin using a temperature-controlled radiofrequency to stimulate collagen remodeling. Collagen is a natural compound that gives skin its strength and elasticity. ThermiSmooth applies the radiofrequency energy on the outside of the skin, rather than inside, so it’s even less invasive than ThermiTight.
What areas can be treated with ThermiSmooth?
ThermiSmooth treatments are commonly used on body areas that accumulate the bumpy, dimpled fat known as cellulite. These include your:
- Chest, breast, and arms
- Abdomen, back, and flank
- Hips, buttocks, and thighs
- Knees, calves, and ankles
ThermiSmooth may also be applied to your face and eye area.
What are the benefits of ThermiSmooth?
ThermiSmooth is noninvasive, so it requires no incisions or surgery. You undergo a series of four to six applications over the course of six to eight weeks. It’s gentle and requires no downtime following treatment. It also poses very few side effects.
Do ThermiTight and ThermiSmooth treatments hurt?
ThermiTight does involve delivering the radiofrequency under the skin, so it requires some local anesthetic to numb discomfort. You may have some swelling following a ThermiTight treatment. Patients describe the external application of ThermiSmooth radiofrequency as feeling like a gentle massage.
